Martin Seligman, former president of the American Psychological Association, and resercher of Learned Helplessness (aka Depression) talks about three forms of happiness and how to make big changes in how we function.
I have learned that it somestimes isn't helpful to focus on the anxiety a person is experiencing. The more we pay atttion to anxiety the more anxiety is reinforced.
We will often quite naturally experince less anxiety if we focus on something else (I won't mention what that something is just yet)
How easy is it to feel depressed if we are experiencing happiness?

We need to have positive thoughts that are believable. We can improve our mood as long as we are not reaching too far in our positive affirmations…
